How Does It Work?

Instead of using an injection to numb the area, the Solea laser uses a highly precise, computer-guided wavelength of light. This light essentially “turns off” the pain receptors in the tooth as it works. Because the laser replaces the traditional dental drill, the source of most discomfort—the friction, vibration, and loud noise—is completely eliminated.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • No Shots: For the vast majority of our cavity preparations and soft tissue treatments, we do not need to use a needle or local anesthesia.
  • No Lingering Numbness: You will not leave our office with a numb lip, cheek, or tongue. You can go straight back to work, school, or out to lunch without waiting hours for the anesthesia to wear off or worrying about accidentally biting your lip.
