Jaw Slimming & Masseter Reduction
The masseter – the large chewing muscle on either side of the jaw – can become enlarged through habitual clenching or grinding, creating a wide, square lower face that many patients find aesthetically unflattering. Masseter Botox gradually reduces the size of this muscle over 4-8 weeks, creating a slimmer, more refined lower face contour – with the added benefit of also reducing the grinding force that drives jaw pain and TMJ symptoms.
How we treat it: Precise, low-dose Botox injections are placed directly into the masseter on each side. The injections take approximately 10-15 minutes. Gradual muscle softening occurs over 4-8 weeks as the masseter adjusts. Results typically last 4-6 months. With consistent treatment over time, many patients find that less product is needed to maintain the same result.
