This care is provided on the medical side of Westside under Dr. Sabah Jarullah, family physician. Every patient begins with a medical assessment; insured visits are covered under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan. No referral needed.

Coverage
Some procedures are insured by the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan when medically necessary. Cosmetic removals (for example, skin tags or benign moles removed for appearance) and certain services are private-pay – you’ll always know which applies, with fees stated clearly, before anything is booked.

It depends on the procedure and the reason. Medically necessary care is insured; cosmetic removals are private-pay. We tell you exactly which applies at your assessment – before you decide anything.
Does it hurt?
Comfort comes first: local anaesthetic is used where appropriate, and every step is explained before it happens.
What about something that looks suspicious?
It gets a careful assessment. Where appropriate, tissue is sent for testing, and anything needing specialist care is referred promptly – no guesswork.
Do I need a referral?
