RF microneedling at Westside uses the EXION™ Fractional RF applicator by BTL. Fine microneedles deliver radiofrequency into the dermis, creating tiny controlled zones of thermal injury that trigger new collagen and elastin while the skin between them is spared – the basis of fractional remodelling. What makes EXION™ different is depth and comfort: the needles insert to about 4 mm and AI-controlled energy creates a thermal gradient a further 4 mm below, affecting tissue up to 8 mm deep in a single pass without the pain of full-depth needling.

EXION™ Fractional RF at a glance
The visit
30–45 minutes including numbing time. A topical numbing cream is applied first; the treatment itself is a single pass and well tolerated.
Downtime
Mild redness for 24–48 hours – most people are back to normal activities the next day. Full results develop over about three months as collagen remodelling progresses, and last 12–18 months.
Suitable for
All skin types. Your skin is assessed with Aura 3D imaging first, and your provider explains what to avoid before and after treatment.

Nothing here is chosen from a menu. Your skin is imaged with Aura 3D, your goals are discussed honestly, and the plan – which applicators, in which order, how many sessions – is built from that. Is RF microneedling painful?
Numbing cream is applied before treatment and the EXION™ applicator was designed specifically to reduce the discomfort of traditional RF microneedling. Most people find it well tolerated.
How many sessions do I need?
Typically 3–4 sessions spaced about four weeks apart; your assessment sets the number based on your skin and your goals.
When will I see results?
Texture improves over the first weeks; scars and firmness improve progressively over about three months.
Is there anything to avoid?
Your provider gives you specific pre- and post-care – typically avoiding sun exposure, retinoids and harsh products around treatment days.
Can I finance treatment?
