Westside uses the Nox T3s, a clinical-grade Level 3 home sleep test recorder, so your sleep is measured where you actually sleep. You wear the small recorder for one night; it tracks breathing, airflow, oxygen levels, heart rate, snoring and body position. Our sleep team and family physician review the recordings, and you return for a results visit to go through your options.
Assessed by a physician first
Dr. Sabah Jarullah reviews your symptoms and examines your airway, neck and jaw before deciding whether a home sleep test is the right next step. If it is, you pick up the Nox T3s kit with a short fitting demonstration, wear it for one night in your own bed, and return it the next day. Dr. Sabah reviews the recording and goes through the results with you at a follow-up visit.
What the test measures
Airflow and breathing effort, blood oxygen saturation, pulse, snoring intensity and body position through the night – the measures a physician needs to assess snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. In Alberta, sleep apnea must be diagnosed by a physician; Dr. Sabah Jarullah reviews every study.
How it works
You pick up the kit at the clinic with a short fitting demonstration, wear it for one night at home, and return it. Physician sleep assessments are insured under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan; any private costs for testing or appliances are explained before you book.
